Description
A third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic which is a semi-synthetic in nature. Cefixime has a broad spectrum against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Clavulanic is derived from Beta-lactamase inhibitor which is produced by bacteria of Streptococcus genus. Clavulanic acid is an irreversible inhibitor of intracellular and extracellular β-lactamases, demonstrating concentration-dependent and competitive inhibition.
ZEFAX-CV DRY SYRUP (CEFIXIME 50 MG + POTASSIUM CLAVULANATE ACID 31.25MG) is active for certain bacteria’s. Its main function is to inhibit beta-lactamase. The antibiotics with beta-lactam such as penicillins and cephalosporins function on inhibition of cell wall synthesis of the bacteria`s which interrupts in the replication of bacteria.
ZEFAX-CV DRY SYRUP has a combination of cefixime and clavulanic acid (ß-lactamase inhibitor) that treats the infections caused by beta-lactam resistance pathogens.
