NEPAWAR eye drop is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of prostaglandin, that causes allergy symptoms and inflammation (swelling and redness). Pharmacodynamics:- Nepawar is a prodrug. After penetrating the cornea, nepafenac undergoes rapid bioactivation to amfenac, which is a potent NSAID that uniformly inhibits the COX1 and COX2 activity. Pharmacokinetics: – • Nepafenac rapidly cross the cornea (6 times faster than diclofenac in vitro). INDICATION: – This medication is used to relieve eye pain, irritation, and redness following cataract eye surgery. Nepafenac belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking certain natural substances (prostaglandins) in your body that cause pain and swelling.
