Composition and Mechanism of Action

Sodium Alginate: It is an extracted chemical compound derived from seaweed. It forms a viscous gel or “raft” upon reacting with gastric acid, which floats in the stomach content, thus creating a physical barrier to prevent acid reflux into its oesophagus.

Sodium Bicarbonate:  Sodium bicarbonate is a fast antacid that neutralises excess stomach acid and produces carbon dioxide, which helps form the protective alginate raft.

Calcium carbonate: It is responsible for the structural integrity of the raft, enhancing its effectiveness and preventing the reflux. It provides a long-lasting acid neutralization.
