Description
NOIR DS is a combination of medicine which is a penicillin-type antibiotic that acts against a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by hindering the formation of the bacterial cell walls.
MECHANISM OF ACTION: –
Amoxicillin prevents cross-linkage of bacterial cell-wall that leads to cell death whereas Clavulanate increases the drug resistance to beta-lactamase
Amoxicillin inhibits transpeptidase, preventing cross-linking of the bacterial cell walls and leading to cell death. Addition of clavulanate (a beta-lactam) increases drug resistance to beta-lactamase (an enzyme produced by bacteria that may inactivate amoxicillin).
